I wonder if this was produced as a parody or a warning. Maybe a mix of both. It is well known that these are being produced, enhanced and perfected. Think Boston Dynamics for example. And I think the Chinese are onto them. So definitely not far fetched and advances in articulation (the communications and programming side is already there) make real world deployment inevitable - and frightening. Think smart cities people - stay out of them

But I must fly - I have to grab my excavator and dig a two metre deep trench around my house......just in case ...... lol

See the links I posted in the comments. I’ll add them to the Substack as well because it’s worth people understanding that San Francisco seriously considered letting their robots use lethal force. As you know of predictive programming, don’t look any further than black mirror.

Exactly! LOL! :) I agree. I'm pretty sure this was a parody. They gave it away when they mentioned building a mote around your house.

Ya. If you want to feel all safe and cozy, just barricade yourself into a dark closed off bunker surrounded by razor wire fencing and all sorts of trip hazards. Maybe build a moat and fill it with robotized alligators or robot piranha. Don't forget to board up all windows, doors, vents, and chimney openings. Cut little slots in exterior walls so you can protect yourself with your imaginary sniper riffle... Always have a gas mask within reach and wear military grade infrared goggles. Then enjoy your safe and cozy life...

It says to “notify the authorities if you see a robot dog.”

Who do they think deployed the robot dog?

The annoying neighbor???

GEEEEZ!!!!!

Expand full comment
MellowKat's avatar

Yeah, I’d ignore that part. It’s pretty clear that they would be used by the “authorities.”

“The initial decision to allow “killer robots” was met with widespread criticism from civil rights groups and shone a harsh light on the increasing militarization of US police forces.

Supervisors and police officials who had originally supported the use of lethal force had said the robots would kill people only in extraordinary cases, such as suicide bombing or active shooter situations.” https://amp.theguardian.com/us-news/2022/dec/06/san-francisco-lawmakers-ban-killer-robots-u-turn

Robot Dogs counter measures. SLEDGEHAMMER RIFLE SHOTGUN MOLOTOVE COCKTAILS rope wire cable or anything to tangle feet legs

Paint gun super soaker with 50-50 mix of water and house paint flat enamel will cloud up the lenses of any camera whether on robot dog or stationary camera mounted to building light pole Street post or 5G transmitter surveillance cameras ALPR AUTOMATIC LICENSE PLATE READER ETC.

Water balloons filled with 50 / 50 mix of sand or dirt with used motor oil will also obscure lenses of cameras

Molotov cocktails versatile counter measure

Aerial Drones

Shotgun bird shot

Anarchists cookbook 1973 has recipes of attached cut up 2 L soda bottle to wooden dowel with nails empty a 12 gun 12 gauge shotgun cartridge box shot then insert shotgun shell into single barrel or double barrel shotgun breach then insert wooden dowel through barrel nested into plastic shotgun shell now the shotgun becomes a wooden dowel launcher to launch your Molotov cocktail Farther than you can throw it

One could also attach nets and apparatus in this fashion

Cable style tire chains are excellent to throw out or launch towards aerial drones as our net

Any fishing net pantyhose fishing wire ribbon yarn twine spool of anything you can launch towards an aerial drone with a tennis racket slingshot or lacrosse stick are all suitable defense

And surely you would want to have numerous redundant defense mechanism handy to avoid aerial drones at each and every one of your Homestead bug in bunker house home or place of refuge to seek shelter from drone attack

Might be difficult to get to that battery area. I wonder if backpack flame thrower would work hmm

Scott munson's avatar

Flamethrowers always work against robot dogs tanks armored personnel carriers and most all military equipment as it simply becomes too intolerably hot inside

I could mention a website but I would not want to because it is not safe for work and can cause trauma in humans

Funker530.com video website is built by veterans run by veterans and visited by veterans I watched this website for years to gain insight on police tactics for example why police have to maintain a 21 foot distance from any knife brandishing attacker as it is far too simple for a crazed knife person to charge at and kill a cop before police officer can discharge sufficient rounds to neutralize dang

2022 Russia Ukraine CIA proxy war kicked off and again this channel had the best videos of how to create Molotov cocktails to stop incoming Russian tanks as Ukrainians would gather to pour Styrofoam pellets from broken up packaging and or beanbag pellets into glass bottles followed by gasoline to make NAPALM THE STYROFOAM DISSOLVED WITHIN THE GASOLINE CREATES A STICKY GOOEY SUBSTANCE WHICH STICKS TO PEOPLE AND MACHINERY TO CONTINUOUSLY HAVE A FIERY GEL INFERNO CREATING SUCH HEAT IN THE TANK THAT THE OCCUPANTS SIMPLY HAVE TO ESCAPE THE TANK AND THEN THEY GET CAPTURED OR SHOT OR WHATEVER ARE THEY THINKING OF THE DAY IS

Likewise intense heat will totally screw up a robot dog battery and more I have a lot of other FAQs on how to neutralize these threats I guess I'll be right back in a minute but whatever you do do not go to

Fucking terrifying….What we need is some type of sensor blocker or a frequency that shuts down electronics. EMP? It's a no brainer that tech would eventually get down & dirty. Are there any computer nerds out there who are willing to develop a deterrent available to the public?

Dave's avatar

Wow! Didn't know that potential attacks from these things was that much of a possibility.

I didn't see anything in the video about using signal jamming devices on these robots. They can be used to disrupt communications between the robot and drone, or whatever its communicating with. Leaving it with no commands.

Also, one other disadvantage these stupid things have, is they cannot detect a person's scent like a real dog can (that I'm aware of). Maybe that too will change. Who knows.

Thank you, Kat for sharing that. Puts a whole new perspective on things!😏

Expand full comment
Poisoned's avatar

do the jammers have to be set to a certain frequency to work and then would you have to find the robots' frequency and set the jammer to that?

Expand full comment
Dave's avatar

From what little I know of them, the frequency has to be close or the exact one to work. I know that in certain places, they are used (in the recent conclave in Rome, for example). They don't divulge much information about them, because they don't want people using them.

Yesterday I seen some type of laser that just automatically removed rust from metal made it a clean surface. I ordered and bought one of them online Chinese lights flashlights that cuts through paper Etc and it didn't work. The technology is there but of course they won't let us use it. Or know about it. Frequencies are everything.
